ACC DONATES RS ONE CRORE
TO PRIME MINISTER'S NATIONAL RELIEF FUND TO
SUPPORT RELIEF WORK FOR TSUNAMI VICTIMS
ACC, The Associated Cement
Companies Limited, has donated an amount of
Rs 1 crore to the Prime Minister's National
Relief Fund as part of its contribution to help
support the Government of India in meeting relief
and rehabilitation work for victims of the tsunami
disaster that struck the coast of South India
and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. A cheque
for Rs 1 crore was given to the Prime Minister
today by Mr Tarun Das, Chairman ACC.
In a separate initiative, employees
of ACC have decided to donate one day's salary
to be used to aid victims of this massive disaster.
The Company has already deputed
a team of medical persons and volunteers to
Tamil Nadu to lend support to ongoing relief
work and to explore other ways in which we can
be of help in this national calamity.

Results of Poll conducted
on Friday, 9th July, 2004 at The 68th Annual
General Meeting of the Company.
At the 68th Annual General
Meeting of the Company held on Friday, 9th July,
2004, a few shareholders demanded a poll on
the Special Resolution at Item No.10 of the
Notice relating to 'Employees Stock Option Scheme
2004'.
Accordingly, the Chairman ordered
a poll to be conducted forthwith . The results

Cement - Record despatches in 2003-04
ACC ended the year 2003-2004
(April-March) with overall cement despatches
of 15.36 million tonnes as compared to 13.88
million tonnes in the preceding year. This represents
a rate of growth of 10.7 per cent as compared
to last year. Cement production during 2003-2004
stood at 15.34 million tonnes against 13.89
million tonnes in the previous year. This is
the first time ACC along with its subsidiaries
has crossed the 15 million tonne mark in cement
production and despatches.

) formerly known as IDCOL Cement Limited (ICL)
ACC has purchased 350,00,000
Equity Shares of the nominal value of Rs 10
each of Bargarh Cement Limited (BCL), representing
13.21% of BCL's total equity share capital from
Unit Trust of India today, for a total consideration
of Rs.26,84,50,000/-. Consequent to this, BCL
has become a 100% Subsidiary of The Associated
Cement Companies Limited.

Receipts (GDR) aggregating US$ 100 million (including
green shoe).

runner and underwriter for this double-barrelled
offering.
The Company intends to use
the aggregate net proceeds of this offering
for funding its acquisition of Bargarh Cement
Limited (formerly known as IDCOL Cement Limited),
the modernization of its Chaibasa plant along
with setting up a Captive Power Plant and other
capital expenditure programmes.

17 million tonnes along with subsidiaries. It
