At ACC, Health and Safety is a core value. In the face of the coronavirus pandemic we have continued to live up to this core value, acting quickly and with great solidarity to protect employees, contractors and all our stakeholders in the time of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

A Business Resilience Team (BRT) was constituted to address the COVID-19 challenge, comprising experts from Human Resources, Health & Safety, Communications, Operations, Procurement, IT, Legal, and Security to provide guidance, advice, monitoring and reporting on the preparedness of our India operations. Our response is prepared using a four alert level Trigger Action Response Plan (TARP), with specific actions at each deteriorating alert level. We comply with national health regulatory requirements and the execution of central guidance on a risk basis.
We have put in place a range of measures to protect our teams and contribute to the containment of the disease. These measures include:
Work-from-home arrangements for all office staff and where feasible
Travel restrictions
Strict adherence to social distancing in operations and our offices
Adaption of our Health and Safety guidance for all our operations in relation to COVID-19
Creation of company-wide COVID-19 online resource center available to all our employees
Guidelines on Working in a Covid-19 environment in plants and offices
Group wide webinars for employees on keeping themselves and their families safe
Webinars for mental wellbeing and resilience
Strong promotion of ‘contactless’ digital initiatives
All these measures have been added to our standing practices to enforce and incentivize Health & Safety and safe business practices in the face of the Corona-crisis. We are constantly monitoring and adapting our approach for each site, carefully following national guidelines as well as the instructions of local health authorities.

ACC is proud to join thousands of colleagues across the country, who are joining in the fight against COVID-19. Everyone has their part to play in the fight against the Coronavirus, from big to small.
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, ACC has stepped up its efforts to protect and support communities across the country - from distributing food and provisions to disinfecting villages areas; from facilitating the production of 3-layer face masks to educating people on the need for social distancing, washing hands and maintaining respiratory hygiene.

In accordance with the government’s guidance for operating essential services, ACC resumed operations in most sites in a phased manner giving utmost consideration to the health and safety of our people, while also taking into account directives from the Government.
